With more emotions through the city
The MAN CitE was meant to be more than just another approach to e-mobility. Through the progressive cluster design the driver can feel the energy of MANs first full electric inner-city vehicle. In collaboration with MAN we achieved the goal of adding emotions to the task of inner-city distribution transport! The result left many visitors at the 2018 IAA thrilled: A truck that makes business simpler, more profitable, more sustainable and future-proof.

More than a conventional design
The CitE has been showed by MAN as the newly developed city truck at the IAA 2018. Together with MAN we developed the cluster concept and design within 6 months, from style definition until final implementation-ready specification. The result is a truck with a unique and memorable cluster design that strengthens the brand experience. The HMI concept includes many innovative highlights which deviate from the conventional vehicles‘ interaction concept, such as the splitting up of the speedo- and powermeter to make room for the main menu in the display center. The cluster is characterized by easy to understand visual metaphors. The urbanity of the vehicle is visual recognizable in the clean and large-scale design of the cluster.
A novel electric vehicle 4.0
The cluster includes an easily accessible menu for several vehicle settings. Additionally, an animated 3D truck is one of the highlights of the full digital cluster, showing vehicle components and respective information about them, which supports the driver to always having access to the vehicle status with minimal distraction. Another special feature is the calmed mode. When activated, it only shows the essential information to the driver – information reduced to the very basics, which might help drivers to cope with their demanding job when navigating through packed inner-city traffic. The state of charge can be displayed on the digital display and checked in real time during the charging process. That makes the CitE to a great user-oriented selling proposition.
