TRIZaffairs is a tool for collaborative ideation on functional principles. It is used in innovation workshops with users and client stakeholders at an early stage of research to overcome innovation barriers. Drawing on Altschuller’s research on over 200.000 patents and the determination of 40 innovation

FutureNow explores value propositions of product, software, services at early research phases. It is a collaborative workshop framework engaging all relevant design stakeholders in the question of how things could really be different. Together with our client we explore, create and reflect on how a given product context, situation or experience could be improved at the intersection of design and everyday life. designaffairs’ Design Style Observation showcases the most prominent design styles currently en vogue in Europe, Asia and North America. DSO is based on a continuous trend monitoring of product and user interface styles. The tool gives orientation and inspiration for creating and rationalizing design directions. Examples for DSO differentiation can be CMF, proportion, functionality, product architecture, surfacing, detailing, graphics and more.

SXR is suitable for both, physical and digital products and services.

Understanding product attributes

HUX (Holistic User Experience)

Based on a quantitative user study with 300+ customers, HUX creates innovation roadmaps for short, mid and long term research & development goals. Clients are enabled to take informed decisions for future developments of products, services, interfaces and entire portfolios. HUX compares the general product experience with the experience rating of single attributes e.g. features and functions. As a result we can answer the following questions: How is the overall experience on the product? // How does the ratio of development effort and resulting impact on the customer effect their overall quality perception? // What is the distribution of product attributes into motivational, enthusiasm and hygiene factors?

Assessing brand experiences


SimuPro can be used for: Aligning new product with existing product portfolio // Creating new brand // Refreshing an existing brand // Crafting consistent brand experiences across product ecosystem and across service touchpoints. We assess brand experiences by exposing people to various brand stimuli and capture their perceptions via questionnaires using 15 semantic differentials. We then analyse footprints and mark inconsistencies between brand manifestations and touchpoints. Now there are two options to improve brand experience: We combine SimuPro with our tool DSO and use existing design styles that match brand perception best as our reference. Or we use Multisensory Moods to deliver one consistent brand experience across ecosystem and touchpoints while taking all senses into account.
